Privacy Policy

Synesthesia Music ("the app") is made by Praxticus Mobile Labs LLC ("we"). The app doesn't collect, store, share or sell any personal information. This policy explains what the app does with the things you give it, and what happens if you contact us through this website.

Your scores stay on your device

Sheet music you import (PDFs, MusicXML files and photos or scans of printed pages), the app's reading of it, your corrections and your settings are stored only on your device, inside the app. They're never uploaded to us or anyone else. Deleting a score removes it; deleting the app removes everything.

Camera and photos

On iPhone and iPad the camera is used to show your score in augmented reality, live on your screen, and, if you choose Scan with Camera, to scan printed pages. Scanned pages and photos you pick are turned into a score that's kept on your device. The app sees only the photos you choose; it has no access to the rest of your photo library.

Microphone and speech

The microphone is used only while the microphone button in Ask about the score is on. What you say is turned into text on your device by Apple's on-device speech recognition. Audio isn't recorded, saved or sent anywhere.

Follow me

When you turn on Follow me (part of Synesthesia Pro), the app listens through the microphone to which notes you're playing, so the score can keep up with you. The sound is analysed as it arrives, on your device; it isn't recorded, saved or sent anywhere, and listening stops when you turn Follow me off or leave the score.

Ask about the score

Questions you ask are answered by Apple Intelligence's on-device language model, using what the app has read from your score. Your questions and the answers stay on your device; the app doesn't send them to us or to anyone else. Apple Intelligence is provided by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy.

Head turns

If you turn on Turn pages with your head (part of Synesthesia Pro), the app uses the front camera and Apple's ARKit face tracking to notice when you turn your head left or right. Only the angle of your head is used, moment to moment, on your device. No images, video or face data are recorded, stored or sent anywhere, and face data isn't used for anything else. It runs only while the feature is on and a score is open, and you can turn it off at any time.

Explain the markings and Art Mode moods

When you tap a marking, the app reads the word there with Apple's on-device text recognition and explains it with the on-device language model. When you pick an Art Mode mood, Image Playground paints a backdrop on your device from a fixed description of that mood (such as "a stormy sea at night"); the backdrop is kept on your device so it isn't painted again. Nothing from your scores is sent anywhere for either feature.

Purchases

Synesthesia Pro is an auto-renewing subscription sold through the App Store. Apple handles the payment and your account; we don't receive your payment details. The app checks with the App Store, on your device, whether your subscription is active. Manage or cancel it at any time in your Apple Account settings.

Apple Vision Pro

On Apple Vision Pro, world sensing is used only to remember where you pinned your score in your room. That position is stored only on your device.

No tracking

The app has no accounts, advertising, analytics or third-party tracking, and it doesn't send your data over the internet. Your device may download language or speech models from Apple that these features need; Apple handles those downloads under its privacy policy.

If you contact us

If you use the support form on this website, we receive the name, email address, topic, device and message you enter. They're delivered to us by email through Web3Forms, a form-delivery service. We use them only to answer you and to fix the problem you report. We don't add you to mailing lists, and we don't share or sell your details. To have your messages deleted, ask us through the same form.

This website

This website doesn't use cookies, analytics or advertising. It's hosted on Google Firebase, which keeps standard server logs (such as IP addresses) to run and secure the service, under Google's privacy policy.

Children

The app collects no information from anyone, including children. If you're under 13, please ask a parent or guardian to contact us for you.

Changes

If anything here changes, we'll update this policy, and the App Store privacy details where they apply, before the change takes effect.
